This game was developed by Runic Games and it's great. I recently gained access to the beta and after playing around a bit I have to say that it's just as much fun as Diablo if not more. Torchlight offers a great variety of customization in both your character appearance and your play style. Do you like playing as a tank or just a big hack and slash dps? You can do both! You also get a pet in this game that is a huge asset. Your pet does everything from following you and looking cool to fighting for you but that's not the best part. This pet also takes shopping lists for you. While you're adventuring you can tell your pet to run back to town and sell items from your inventory. While he's doing this, he can also pick up items for you such as health potions and town portal scrolls. This is highly useful since it allows you to stay in the action far longer without having to run back to town to empty your inventory.
Okay, now here is the best part of this game. Are you ready? It only costs $20! Right now you have two options if you order from Steam. You can get a single copy of the game for $20 or you can get four copies for $60 that you can gift out. This means that for the price of a single copy of Diablo 3 you can start your Torchlight adventure with three of your friends. Torchlight is a great bargain whether you play alone or with a group. I would highly recommend this game to anyone interested in action rpg's. It's a great time and is quite polished already in it's beta phase. You really can't ask for a better game for the money.
